What scale of pain are you?

You know when you go to the doctor and they get yur vitals, right. That question that you start to cringe about. Are you in any pain?

How do you answer it? I am still trying to figure out how to answer that properly without the flashing lights, or even the huh look.

Every day I wake up in pain. I go get my nerve blocker and the anti inflamation medication. Only if I have a headache, which I do I take the Advil .

I am in emotional pain with all the surgeries past and present, and coming up, does that count? I am in physical pain from the shingle damage and the lost of nerves in my leg. There are days that if I am depressed or just not there I am in a lot of pain. If I want sleep the day before its sleeping pills and then the following day its all day nerve pain.

Are you also asking is it a cold pain or a hot pain. If you know what I am talking about you know.

I do block a lot of it out. I have to or I would be on the floor in pain and crying. I dont have time for that. Heaven forbid there is a loud noise without my ear covers.

I have done lot of writing here of late to help with me to advocate for better care.

I am not knocking the nurses that ask the question however is there a way we can maybe ask it better?
